This skatepark development was a true community-led effort. To bring this skatepark to life, I held three public input sessions to learn what was important to the Kingsport community. Through this work, I discovered that it was important for the park to accommodate many different user groups including: skateboarders, rollerbladers, and BMX riders.

While designing the skatepark, I created detailing that gives this park a modern industrial feel. The custom-fabricated rails are styled after railroad tracks. The signage was also custom-fabricated and integrated into the space.
