Warm Springs Skatepark

Client & Collaborators: The Skatepark Project, Tactics Skateshop, Portugal the Man Foundation

Firm: Just Jake Seymour

Build: Concrete Collective PNW

I worked as the lead designer for this skatepark on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. As Mike Collins, director of Managed Care for the tribe, says “the revamped skatepark is more than just a fun place for skateboarders to practice their moves. It’s a place where the whole community can build memories, for generations to come.”

In order to create the new skatepark, I worked with the Warm Springs community to discover what was most important to them. I also partnered closely with The Skatepark Project, formerly the Tony Hawk Foundation, to ensure that it met their standards of accessibility and inclusivity.

My Role

Concept design

Coordination with builder

Community surveying

We worked closely to solicit input from young people in the community about the type of park that they wanted, to bring together local, public and private partners…so that it can be a permanent resource for generations of young people and community members of Warm Springs
